PURPOSE:To enable continuous distance measurement and to perform the distance measurement accurately, by advancing the distance measuring operation in prescribed sequence. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of pulses phi1, a projector LED1 emits light to an object 4 intermittently and reflected light from the object 4 is converted 5 into an electric signal, which is integrated at 8 through an analog switch S1. An intergral output is compared with reference voltages ref1 and ref2, respectively and latched by pulses phi2. When the object is at close distance, an LED2 turns on, and when at intermediate distance, an LED3 turns on; and when it is at long distance, an LED4 turns on. The respective LED2-LED4 turn on in a finder to display the distance.
