CONSTITUTION:The electric noise transmitted from a transmitting source such as the engine of an automobile or the like is received in a receiving part 21, and the waveform of a detection signal is processed by a waveform processing circuit 22, by which only the required signal is extracted. A voltage rate operating circuit 24 extracts the maximum and minimum levels out of a number of voltage pulses outputted by the circuit 22, and operates the ratio thereof. A wavelength ratio operating circuit 25 measures twice the generation time of a number of wavelength pulses outputted by the circuit 22, and operates a time ratio. A voltage rate decision circuit 27 compares the output of the circuit 24 with the storage value of a rate reference value storage part 26 and knows the state of an ignition system. A wavelength rate decision circuit 28 compares the output of the circuit 25 with the storage value of part 26, and knows the presence or absence of uneven revolutions. A control circuit 23 is inputted with the measurement start signal of a foot switch 12, and performs the time measurement of 3-5 seconds.
