Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition for plastics, capable of providing a film having improved resistance to scuffing, adhesivity, and chemical resisrance, obtained by blending a polyester polyol and an etherified methylol melamine with colloidal silica in stead of a silicic acid ester.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A dispersion of collidal silica in an alcohol is blended with (B) a polyester polyol (e.g., sebacic acid-trimethylol propane-diethylene glycol system, etc.) and (C) an etherified methylol melamine shown by the formula (R1WR3 are H or 1W4C alkyl) in a ratio of A:B:C=(5W70):(5W60):(5W80) (weight ratio of solid content), and, if necessary, with 0.5W3wt% acidic catalyst (e.g., oxalic acid, etc.) for condensation, to give the desired composition.
