Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute an optimum tension control even in case of any running speed, by converting the ratio of frequencies corresponding to rotary angle speeds of a capstan and a reel, to voltage, and applying it as reverse driving voltage of a reel motor. CONSTITUTION:Disks 8, 11 to which magnets 9, 12 have been installed are provided on a capstan 2 and a feed side reel 3, frequencies f1, f2 being in proportion to rotary angle speeds are generated, a digital signal being in proportion to f1/f2 is outputted through a counter 19, a CPU20, a memory 21, etc., and it is converted to voltage, and is applied as reverse driving voltage of a reel motor 6. In this case, since back-tension increases almost in inverse proportion to decrease of the diameter of tape wound thickness of the feed side reel 3, when revese driving voltage being in proportion of to f1/f2, which is incidental to decrease of the wound diameter is applied to the motor 6, back-tension can be controlled to a constant value. In this way, an optimum tension control can be executed, irrespective of a running speed of a tape.
