Abstract

PURPOSE: To form printing metal sheet having excellent hydrophilic nature not deteriorating for a long period and also a good adhesiveness to a substance having affinity ink by treating the metal sheet of specified surface roughness with specified metal sol.
CONSTITUTION: The metal sheet (e.g. steel sheet, aluminum sheet manufactured by rolling, iron sheet, copper sheet manufactured by electroforming) of 10W400μ thickness and 0.1W3μ average surface roughness is surface-treated by immersion in sol solution of hydrated metal oxide of Al, Ti, Ca, etc. (e.g. solution containing ca. 1W100g/l aluminum sol of 1W500nm particle diameter). Or electrolysis is done in said bath of solution, using the metal sheet as a cathode.
