Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a low-cost rotation detecting device by composing of a rotary magnet and plural magnetic reluctance elements which are arranged in the neighborhood of the magnet in such a manner that all are connected in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical permanent magnet 6, which is fixed to a rotary shaft 1 through a holder 7, has magnetic poles 6a and 6b which are NS magnetized in circunferential direction. Facing to this magnet 6, magnetic reluctance elements 8a and 8b are arranged in such positions that they are mutually shifted by 90 deg.. These two magnetic reluctance elements 8a and 8b are connected in parallel, and variations of electrical resistance are put out from terminals 9a and 9b as variations of voltage. Electrical resistances of the magnetic reluctance elements 8a and 8b vary in accordance with rotation of the magnet 6, and as to the variations of reluctance of the elements 8a and 8b, because of their respectively different phases, combined reluctance of parallel connection varies at a frequency being twofold of that of an element. In other words, one rotation of the magnet 6 detects 4-time voltage changes.
