Abstract
PURPOSE:To always ensure the stable and uniform transcription of a good quality picture, by setting the impedance of a power source for stabilizing member of transcribed electric field at a prescribed level and applying a high level of bias voltage to the stabilizing member even at high humidity. CONSTITUTION:A high level of bias voltage equal to a transcription roller 15 is applied also to a transport roller 31 of a transcribed electric field stabilizing member although a transfer paper 1 has low resistance at high humidity. As a result, the electric charge for transcribed field given from the roller 15 is prevented from scattering to an earthed body 32. While the resistance value of impedance 35 of a power source Eo that applies the bias voltage to the roller 31 is selected at a proper level lower than the resistance value of a resistance 34 which is applied to the body 32 at high humidity. Accordingly the roller 31 is set at a prescribed high level of bias potential although the current flows via the paper 12 at high humidity. As a result, a high-quality picture can always be transcribed in a stable and uniform way.
