Abstract
PURPOSE:To save silver films and to obtain a mirror provided with a variety in expression of colors by applying a metallic plating having the identity with a silver film on the silver film after silver plating of a mirror plate thereby forming the 1st layer of packing coats. CONSTITUTION:In applying a silver film on one surface of a mirror plate consisting of a plate material of glass, resin or the like and applying packing coats on this silver film, the metallic plating having identity with the color tone of said silver film is carried out as the 1st layer of the packing coats by electroless plating, chemical plating or electroplating. Metal of periodic table VIII group metals of strong catalytical characteristics out of platinum type metals or one of Ni, Co, Sn or one of alloys of these metals is preferable as the metal adapted as the metallic film to be interposed. It is also possible to apply one or a number of kinds of metals in multilayers as said metallic plating.
