Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a fixing soln. capable of processing a film without peeling off and damaging the film and suitable for use in rapid processing at high temp. by adding an amphoteric surfactant so as to prevent the decomposition, etc. of the components of a fixing soln. CONSTITUTION:To an ordinary fixing soln. is added an amphoteric surfactant such as dimethylalkylbetaine represented by formula I, N-alkyl beta-aminopropionate represented by formula II or salt of org. acid of aminoethylimidazoline represented by formula III by about 0.005-0.5% (wt./vol.). When the surfactant is added to a fixing soln. contg. ammonium thiosulfate as the principal component, an especially remarkable effect is produced.
