Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a pneumatic cylinder of small size capable of absorbing even a small shock, by equipping an oil damper to the moving direction of a piston in the pneumatic cylinder consisting of a cylinder with an air inlet-outlet port and the piston.
CONSTITUTION: Air is injected into a cylinder 11 from an air inlet-outlet port 24, then a piston 12 is moved to the direction of an arrow head. If the air is released, the piston is reversely moved and adapted to an operating rod 20 in the vicinity of a final end of movement of the piston 12, and its kinetic energy can be absorbed by oil dampers 17W23 in a slight amount of moving distance and converted into thermal energy to stop the piston 12. Liquid 18 in the oil cylinder 17 is enclosed by a flexible film 22 of rubber of the like to prevent a leak of oil. In this constitution, there can be obtained a pneumatic cylinder of small size capble of absorbing even a small shock without an oil leak.
