Abstract
PURPOSE:To cause a strong pressurizing-side damping force without failing to reduce the weight of a piston rod, by making the inside and outside diameters of the piston rod large and by inserting a damping force adjusting rod in holding holders tightly fitted in the piston rod, so that the holders retain the adjusting rod. CONSTITUTION:A tubular rod 3 is coupled to a piston fitted in an oil chamber. A push rod 5 is fitted in the rod 3. The outer end of the rod 5 is protruded from that of the rod 3. The push rod 5 is moved back and forth by external operation to adjust the cross-sectional area of an orifice at the piston to change a damping force. The inside and outside diameters of the rod 3 are made large to increase the quantity of working oil drained by the entering of the rod 3, to obtain a strong pressurizing-side damping force. A plurality of annular holders 5 are tightly fitted in the rod 3 to hold the push rod 5 in the diameter-enlarged rod 3.
