CONSTITUTION:In the case of casting a composite roll consisting of, for example, an outside shell 1, and an inside shell 2 by centrifugal force, a metal mold 4 with sand molds 5, 6 is rotated on rollers 3, and the molten metal for the outside shell in a laddle 8 is cast through one end of the opening, whereby an outside shell 9 is formed. This material is an alloy material provided with the performance necessary for the outside shell of the roll, and it is cast under addition of WC powder with a pouring basin 10 or the like during this casting.
