Abstract

PURPOSE: A molding polyester resin composition capable of quickly crystallizing at about 100°C, prepared by introducing a predetermined amount of an alkali metal carboxylate to the terminals of a polyester based on polyethylene terephthalate.
CONSTITUTION: A molding resin composition prepared by introducing at least 1% alkali metal carboxylate, e.g., potassium succinate, to the terminals of a polyester having intrinsic viscosity ≥0.4, and consisting of recurring units of the formula, wherein R is a carboxyl group-free aromatic, alicyclic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acid residue of MW≤300, with the proviso that at least 90mol% of the residues are terephthalic acid residues, D is a 2W3C hydroxyl group-free organic diol residue.
