Abstract
PURPOSE:To diagnose irreducible necessary data in a minimum time by executing a diagnostic program continuously at a high speed up to a count value preceding to a prescribed number of a count value where an error occurred, then executing it in single clock mode, and comparing a system to be diagnosed with a normal system device. CONSTITUTION:A diagnostic program DP is loaded into the main storage device MSU1 of a system to be diagnosed, and then executed by a CPU1 at a high speed in continuous clock mode; when an error is found, that is reported to a service processor SVP. Then, the processor SVP permits the CPU1 to exedcute the diagnostic program DP again at a high speed up to a count value preceding to a prescribed number of a count value where the error occurred and then to execute it in single clock mode. then, the processor SVP permits the main storage device MSU2 of a normal system to execute the same program DP in the same method, thereby collecting the detailed contents of an internal latch for every clock.
