Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a resilient rubber magnet by a method wherein cloth is placed over the material obtained by kneading together ferromagnetic powder and rubber and the foregoing material is magnetized after vulcanization at a predetermined temperature. CONSTITUTION:Glass fiber=made cloth is placed over the surface of the material obtained by kneading together powder of ferromagnetic substance such as Ba, ferrite or the like and synthetic rubber such as ethylene, propylene, non-conjugated diene trirrary copolymer (EPDM) and time and temperature are determined according to available rubber to achieve the vulcanization. The air or the like generated in the vulcanizing process is discharged from the small holes of the cloth to provide a desirable vulcanizing process. In such a system, the vulcanization can be established easily over a wide range and the property of the resilient rubber also be used practically. Subsequently, when magnetization is applied by a conventional manner at a temperature increasing transition (80-150 deg.C) immediately after the vulcanization, the ferromagnetic powder contained in the magnet is directed to a direction of a magnetic field, adsorption force is increased, whereby a desirable rubber magnet is formed.
