Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of heat penetrating through a torque tube and to obtain a highly reliable rotor having a low torque tube stress by a method wherein the thickness of the end section of a heat exchanger cover is formed heavier than that of the section other than the end section. CONSTITUTION:The cover 12a of the heat exchanger has the same thickness as before at the end section 12b, but the section 12c, i.e., other section than the end section, is formed thinner than the end section. By reducing the thickness of the heat exchanger cover 12a and the heat exchanging section 2a of the torque tube, their stress can be increased, the stress of other torque tube sections 2b and 2c can be lessened and also the quantity of heat penetrating into the winding mounting shaft from the shaft end section can be reduced, thereby enabling to obtain a highly reliable rotor.
