Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the efficiency of cleaning of osmotic membrane by a method in which the osmotic membrane is dipped in water, flashed by pressurized water, washed with an aqueous sodium hypochlorite solution, again flashed by pressurized water, again dipped in water, and lastly washed with a surfactant solution.
CONSTITUTION: In cleaning foulness caused by impurities in water on an osmotic membrane of cellulose acetate, etc., when being used for the manufacture of pure water, the osmotic membrane is dipped in water for 20hr or more, flashed by a pressurized water of 2W4kg/cm2, and then washed with a 10W30% sodium hypochlorite aqueous solution. Again, the osmotic membrane is flashed by the pressurized water, dipped in water for 20hr or more, and then washed with a surfactant solution. Thus, as well as inorganics, e.g., Fe, Ca, SiO2, etc., foulness caused by water organisms, e.g., moss, etc., can be cleaned with high cleaning efficiency.
