Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a hardened film excellent in anti-fogging property by a method wherein a composition prepared by mixing a polyvinyl alcohol and particulate silica of a specified average particle diameter at a specified ratio is coated on a surface of a material to be coated, then the coated film of the composition is hardened and the hardened film is subjected to a rubbing treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A composition prepared by mixing 100pts.wt. of a polyvinyl alcohol and 60W300pts.wt. of fine particulate silica having an average particle diameter of about 5W200μ is coated on the surface of the material to be coated. The coated film of the composition is hardened by heating it with hot air, infrared rays or the like and the surface of the hardened film is rubbed with a pliable material such as gauze, a non-woven fabric and the like.
