Abstract
PURPOSE:To selectively detect only an Fe-exposed part through the nonactivation of an Sn-exposed part at a can inner surface and to obtain a corrosion resistant can by a method wherein a can, whose inner surface is coated in a manner to apply a protection film to a surface-processed steel plate containing Sn, is filled with a specified cushioning solution, and a polarization resistance is measured in a state to make a can body into an anode. CONSTITUTION:A can 1 for drink purpose, in which an inner side of a thin Sn- plated steel plate is applied with resin, is filled with a cushioning solution, containing 1.32mol/lNH4SCN and being set at about 7.8pH with NH3, to produce a can 1 into an anode. And Ag/AgCl electrode 3, serving as a reference electrode, and a platinum, acting as opposite electrode 4, are inserted into the solution 2. A potential change DELTAE is applied to the can 1 using a potentiostat 5 to determine coating conditions so that a polarization resistance value, which is difined by an equality of Rp=DELTAE/DELTAI obtained from a current charge DELTAI produced between the can body 1 and the opposite electrode 4, is higher than 0.1X10<4>. This permits obtaining of a can which has a stability against a drink, especially fruit juices having a high corrosiveness, for a long period of time.
