CONSTITUTION:An image sensor 12 and a recording head 11 are mounted on a carriage 10, and the carriage 10 moves in parallel with the recording paper and the original. A motor 13 to move the carriage 10 in parallel is provided with a slit disc 16, and a pitch of the slit corresponds to one picture element of the facsimile, and the slit is detected by a detector 17. Further, an electric pulse signal genera ted by the detector 17 is counted by an up/down counter 36. A carriage position detector consisting of a light source 18 which detects the position of the carriage 10 within the range of the movement of the carriage 10 and a phototransistor 19 is provided. At the transmission and receiving time, the count of the counter 36 is calibrated by a signal from the carriage position detector for every one page or one communication.
