Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent jamming in advance, by cutting off copying paper at a prescribed length with a cutter when the paper of the length more than the maximum allowance of a machine is supplied through manual insertion and by stopping the following paper supply.
CONSTITUTION: When a guide plate 11 for hand-inserted paper supply is set and copying paper is inserted along the guide plate, and upper feed roller 3 is rotated on the basis of a manual insertion signal (a) and a signal (b) from a photosensor PS1 to convey the copying paper in. After the conveyed-in copying paper is detected by a photosensor PS2, the paper is set in an appropriate position. A copying switch is then pressed to put a paper supply start signal (c) at a high level and cause a counter circuit 22 to begin counting. When hand-inserted paper supply is effected with a length more than a prescribed value, the output of an AND circuit 28 becomes high to energize a cutter drive circuit 30 and a cutter solenoid SOL to cut off the copying paper with a cutter 6 and stop supplying the paper.
