EXAMPLE: 6[ D-α-(5-n-hexylpyridine-N-oxide-2-ylcarboxamide)-α-phenylacetamide]-penicillanic acid.
USE: Antibiotic: it shows high antibacterial activity against gram-positive and-negative bacteria, especially Pseudomonas areuginosa.
PREPARATION: For example, an acid of formula II of its reactive derivative is made to react with penicillin of formula III or its derivative to give the compound of formulaIor its salt. The reaction is effected in a solvent such as dimethylformamide, when necessary, in the presence of a base.
