Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled container having improved heat shrinkage resistance and mechanical strength, containing a specific amount ot glass fibers havig a ratio of fiber length/fiber diameter in a specified range, being orientated at least in one direction.
CONSTITUTION: A polyester resin, preferably a polyethylene terephthalate having an intrinsic viscosity of ≥0.6 and a softeing point of 250W260°C, is blended with 0.1W30wt% glass fibers having a ratio of fiber length/fiber diameter of ≥3 to give a resin composition, which is molded by a well-known molding method accompained by drawing, e.g., injection blow molding, injection blow molding of biaxial orientation, etc. The amount of the glass fibers in the range of 0.1W5wt% provides a polyester container like ground glass, having improved decorative effect and appearance of its own free form color like emulsion.
