Abstract

PURPOSE:The titled lubricating oil, containing a specific base oil consisting of a specific monoester, etc. and a specified amount of an ethylene oxide adduct of a polyhydric alcohol (partially esterified substance), and having improved annealing fouling resistance and emulsification stability without causing the oil stain. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil containing (A) (a) 40-95wt% monoester of a 12-22C aliphatic carboxylic acid with a 1-2C aliphatic alcohol and (b) 0.5-20wt% dimeric acid and/or polymeric acid of a 16-20C higher aliphatic unsaturated acid as a base oil and (B) 2-40wt% compound obtained by adding 3-20mol ethylene oxide to the active hydrogen atoms of a polyhydric alcohol having 2-6 hydroxyl groups, and esterifying 1/2 or more terminal hydrogen atoms with an 8-18C aliphatic carboxylic acid. EFFECT:Improved heat resistance and oxidative stability.
