Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a unidirectional silicon steel plate of considerably decreased watt loss by subjecting a steel ingot or continuously cast slab of enriched C and Si in contents to hot rolling, cold rolling and heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:A silicon contg. steel ingot or continuously cast slab enriched with C and Si in about 15-90% inside layers of the total thickness is produced. The starting material are, for example, 0.005-0.04% C and 1.8-3.5% Si for the outer layer and 0.005-0.050 C and 0.2-7.0% Si for the inner layer in average concn. Such material is subjected to hot rolling, cold rolling and heat treatment. By this method, the unidirectional silicon steel plate of low watt loss causing no degration is produced industrially.
