Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the combustion of a heating furnace with good accuracy by measuring the surface temp. of a material upon lapse of the prescribed time after extraction from the heating furnace and providing an arithmetic device measuring the temp. at the point of time of extraction from the time till the measurement and plate thickness.
CONSTITUTION: A material extracted from a heating furnace 2 is descaled by a scale breaker 3, after which its surface temp. is actually measured with a thermometer 3. The average temp. at the point of extraction of the material is operated with an arithmetic device 6 from the required time since of the extraction till the temp. measurement and the plate thickness of the material. The flow rate of combustion to be blown into the furnace 2 is controlled by this average temp. so as to bake the material within the targeted extraction temp. range.
