Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the condition of a melting furnace so as to prevent the disorder of uniformity of its condition by a method in which the main air supply pipe and the main oxygen pipe are provided around a melting furnace for wastes and connected to a tuyere through regulating valves, and the amounts of air and oxygen supplied are adjusted. CONSTITUTION:A wastes melting furnace 1 is provided with the main annular air supply pipe 2, an air supply branch pipe 4, an air amount regulating valve 5, the main annular oxygen pipe 3, and an oxygen regulating valve 6. The condition of the furnace is watched from the viewing window 7 of the air supply branch pipe 4 and also grasped by temperatures displayed on a furnace wall thermometer 19 and a furnace thermometer 18. In case where the temperature of a portion of the furnace is raised due to the nonuniform condition of the furnace, the amounts of air through the air supply branch pipe 4 and also of oxygen through the amin oxygen pipe 3 in corresponding place are reduced, or in case where the temperature of a portion of the furnace is lowered, the amounts of air supplied through the air supply branch pipe 4 and also of oxygen supplied through the main oxygen pipe are increased in order to keep the whole condition of the furnace constant all the time.
