Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to clean heat transfer tubes of a condenser effectively, by providing a method which is capable of removing deposit of slime and manganese substances in the heat transfer tubes by circulating sponge balls with addition of hydroxides of magnesium or aluminum as seed.
CONSTITUTION: Sticking of manganese-ion containing slime to the wall surfaces is prevented by adding seed of hydroxides to cooling water 8 from a seed adding means 7 for absorbing the slime to the seed, and circulating sponge balls through the system. As the aforesaid hydroxides, those of magnesium, aluminum or the like are used to convert adsorbed slime into soft sludge. The sponge balls are put into the system from an inlet 4, carried into heat transfer tubes by a pump 5, circulated via a capturing means 3, and after completion of cleaning, they are taken out from a recovering pipe 6. Here, it will be effective that circulation of the sponge balls is effected at an interval of more than 12 hours and for 5W15min at each time.
