Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce display variations by selectively displaying a residual-fuel- quantity signal from a fuel tank, a residual-fuel-quantity signal by the fuel consumption of an engine, and a residual-fuel-quantity signal by a reduction rate in case of fuel leakage according to the run state of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:The 1st residual-fuel-quantity signal F is obtained by converting the position of the float 12a of a fuel tank 10 into a signal by a level sensor 12 and by passing the signal through an A/D converter 20. The 2nd residual-fuel-quantity signal S is obtained by integrating a fuel injection signal-from an electronic control fuel injection circuit 18. Then, the 3rd residual-fuel-quantity signal D is calculated by a fuel reduction rate DS set by a setter 22 when fuel leaks. Those obtained signals are inputted to an arithmetic processing circuit 24 where car speed pulse are inputted. The arithmetic processing circuit 24 displays on a display device 26 the signal F when the vehicle is not running, the signal S when the vehicle is running and F>S, the signal F when F>S and F>D, and the signal D when F<S and F<D. Consequently, the overshoot of the display when the vehicle is ascending or descending a bank is eliminated.
