PURPOSE:To improve the certainty of photographing operation of a camera by confirming an in-focus state by a sounding signal inhibited during distance adjusting and focusing operation. CONSTITUTION:Through distance measuring circuits IC2 and IC3, a driving signal generating circuit DSFC, a motor driving circuit MDC, etc., a distance adjustment ring is rotated by a motor M1 inhibited by a motor driving inhibiting circuit MDCP for a prescribed time right after a power source is put to work. Then, the information of the distance adjustment ring is compared with the binary signal of object distance information to perform distance measurement and focusing, and the motor M1 stops. While this motor M1 is in driving operation, the transistor TR16 of a sounding control circuit SCC is turned off through diodes D5-D8 and a resistance 15 forming an OR circuit to inhibit a sounding circuit SMC, and the motor M1 stops to release the inhibition in focusing operation, thereby confirming an in-focus state by sounding. Therefore, a shutter is released securely in the in-focus state to improve the certainty of photographing operation of a camera.
