Abstract
PURPOSE:To make effective use of time and prevent an influence due to jitter on the position of electrostatic latent image corresponding to the reference density pattern by rotating a photosensitive body drum and a rotating body without scanning the light source. CONSTITUTION:A disk-shaped rotating body 4 is installed in front of the tip of a picture shown by the arrow X on a contact glass. The face of the rotating body 4 opposite to the contact glass is painted white and black to form a white and black reference density pattern. An axis of the rotating body 4 is connected to a driving system of the body of a copier which is not shown in the figure and rotates at a specified speed to the direction of the arrow as required. The positional relation between an exposure lamp 3 at the home position and the white and black reference density pattern is so set that the lamp irradiates the density pattern at the home position. Prior to exposure of an original, a photosensitive drum 9 and the rotating body 4 is rotated with the exposure lamp 3 at a standstill.
