Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the small-sized inductor of leadless type which can be mounted on a base plate in a stable manner, by connecting the terminals of a coil wound round on an intermediate part to conductive layers on the end surfaces offlange parts at both ends, by sealing a part other than the end surfaces with resin, and by providing thereafter cap-shaped electrodes on the end surfaces. CONSTITUTION:The coil 11 is wound round on the center of a drum-type core 12 and the terminals 14a and 14b of the coil are drawn out and connected to the conductive layers 15a and 15b on the end surfaces 13a and 13b of the flanges 12a and 12b, respectively. With the conductive layers 15a and 15b exposed, the core 12 is molded 16 with resin into a rectangular-parallelepiped or square-tubular form. Then, it is covered with a thin metal film by electroless plating, the intermediate part is exposed and etched with both end surfaces masked, the cap-shaped electrodes 17a and 17b are formed, and thus the inductor is completed. By this constitution, an exposed lead wire is unnecessitated and the small-sized conductor which can be mounted directly on the base plate is obtained.
