Abstract

PURPOSE: A plaster for remedying the affected part, etc. having improved prolonged action of a drug without causing paste residue or swelling out of a pressure- sensitive adhesive resulting from the reduction in cohesive force, consisting of a crosslinked pressure-sensitive adhesive layer which contains both the drug and a specific amount of an auxiliary substance for releasing the drug and a substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A plaster consisting of a substrate (e.g., plastic film, nonwoven fabric, fabric) and a crosslinked pressure-sensitive layer containing both a drug (e.g., corticosteroid) and 10W50wt% auxiliary substance for releasing the drug. Strong cohesive force is provided between the tacky polymer by the crosslinking treatment of the plaster, the addition of relatively large amount of the auxiliary substance for releasing the drug will not cause problems resulting from the reduction in cohesive force, and the short-term release of the drug is suppressed. The plaster is obtained by applying directly the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing the durg and the auxiliary substance for releasing the drug to the substrate or through a release liner, followed by chemical, electron beam, or ultraviolet crosslinking after drying of application or after or before the application through the release liner.
