Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid level meter compact in size, usable without cooling under a high temperature by determining the liquid level of a liquid storage tank for fast breeders or the like in comparison of electric resistance between a resistor positioned in the air and a resistor in the liquid. CONSTITUTION:A storage tank 4 for PDC of fast breeders or the like is provided with an upper limit resistor 1, a lower limit resistor 2 and a comparison resistor 3 all made of platinum for the liquid surface 5 of silicon oil or the like. These resistors are each connected to resistance/voltage converters 6-8 and a comparison is made with upper and lower limit comparators 12 and 13 through voltage/voltage converters 9-11 to produce an output. Therefore, the resistance can be compared between a resistor 3 always in the liquid and resistors 1 and 2 coming into or out of the air to determine the liquid level thereby enabling the utmost miniaturization. Besides, setting of the converters and comparators outside a high temperature atmosphere permits the operation without cooling.
