Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the central management of a water leak in a water pipe, by a method wherein a water leak detector, incorporating a pressure-electricity converter, is monolithically united with a water meter for the installation, and the detecting signal is connected to a common telephone circuit via a coupling circuit. CONSTITUTION:A pressure-electricity converter 5 is mounted at the inlet 2 of a water meter, and a water leak signal from a water meter 15, into which a water leak decision circuit 7 and the pressure-electricity converter 5 are built, is connected to a telephone circuit via a coupling circuit 6. A water feed pipe 13 branches from a distribution pipe 11 through a corporation cock 12, and is connected to the water meter 15 through a stop cock 14. The pressure-electricity converter, a small- sized long-life cell, and a water leak decision circuit are built into the water 15, and an signal from a terminal 9 is inputted to a telephone circuit 8 through a signal line 17. This constitution permits the central management of a large number of the water meters.
