Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance a capacity of a firing detecting electrode and to enable to lengthen a life, by a method wherein a metal, whose main component is a Cr group elecment or a Fe group element, is diffused and impregnated into a surface layer of a base substance whose main component is Fe and Cr and which contains Al. CONSTITUTION:In a firing detection electrode 16, for use with a combustor for burning a fuel whose main component is hydrocarbon, such as oil, gas, the firing detection electrode 16 is consituted such that a surface layer 16b is formed through the diffusion and penetration of a metal, whose main component is a chrome group element, e.g., Cr, Mo, W, on a surface of a base substrate 16a whose main component is Fe and Cr and which consists of a Fe-Cr-Al alloy containing Al. The processing of the surface layer increases a high-temperature resistant oxidation, lengthens a life, prevents the deterioration of a detecting vurrent due to an insulating quality of alpha-Al2O3, and permits maintaining of a normal initial detecting level.
