PURPOSE:To collect solar rays on a large scale and to transmit the optical energy to another destination, by providing a cooling and radiation structure to the photodetection or light transmission part of a device which condenses, photodetects and transmits solar rays. CONSTITUTION:A part which condenses solar rays, a part which photodetects the condensed rays, and a part which transmits the photodetected rays are provided, and a photodetection or light transmission part is provided with a cooling and radiation structure. For example, the solar rays are condensed through a dished light reflecting mirror 1 and, after being guided to the photodetection part 2 made of a bundle of optical fibers surrounded with radial radiation fins, transmitted to a destination by the light transmission part 3 made of a bundle of optical fibers. The temperature of the photodetection part 2 is regulated to <=200 deg.C by the radiation fins. Further, cooling water made hot may be utilized as hot water by using a cooler for water cooling as the cooling and radiation structure.
