Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten an access time, also to simplify the assembly and to elevate the reliability, by heating plural main magnetic poles by means of heating of the Peltier effect on the contact surface of different kinds of metals which have been provided so as to tightly adhere to each other. CONSTITUTION:A main magnetic pole 22 consisting of a thin film of a material having a low Curie temperature and as a large magnetic permeability as possible, which has doped vanadium, chromium, etc. in nickel is provided on a substrate 21 prepared by a nonmagnetic substance obtained by providing a conductive film on an insulating material such as stainless steel, ceramic, etc. A heating film 23 of a material whose specific resistivity is large such as tantalum nitride, etc. is provided by means of screen printing, etc. so as to cover the main magnetic pole 22. An electrode film 24 is provided so as to be overlapped on the heating generating film 23, the heating generating film is placed between said film and the substrate 21, and a function for making a current flow in the thickness direction is given to the heating generating film. In this way, the time required for selecting a head is shortened, the reliability is elevated since there is no moving part, and the assembly is also simplified.
