PURPOSE:To prevent curling of a magnetic recording body, and to provide a satisfactory reproducing property and a running property, by forming 4 layers in order of a nonmagnetic metal vapor-deposition layer, an obliquely vapor-deposited metal vapor-deposition layer, a nonmagnetic metal vapor-deposition layer and an obliquely vapor-deposited magnetic metal on a synthetic resin film so that each layer is formed within the ratio of specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:On a synthetic resin film 1, a nonmagnetic metallic layer 2 of Al, etc. is formed to about 50Angstrom at 60-85 deg. incident angle. Subsequently, the first magnetic metal vapor-deposition layer 3 of Co, etc. is laminated on the layer 2 in about 1,000Angstrom , the second nonmagnetic metal vapor-deposition layer 4 is laminated on the layer 3 in about 500Angstrom , and also the second magnetic layer 5 is laminated in about 1,000Angstrom in the same way as the layers 2, 3, by which a magnetic recording medium is obtained. When the ratio of each film thickness of the layers 2-5 is set to (5- 10):100:(10-50):100, the obtained magnetic recording medium cause no curling, contacts with the magnetic head satisfactorily, and such defects as a drop of a reproducing output, a drop of an S/N ratio, unstable running, etc. are removed.
