Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical scanner of a simple and compact structure, by electrically driving an objective lens held by 2 parallel plate springs, executing a high speed follow-up in the radial direction of a recording carrier, driving the objective in the vertical direction, executing the focusing, and also relatively driving an arm member. CONSTITUTION:An objective lens 18 containing a permanent magnet 19 is held by 2 parallel plate springs 15, and is moved at a high speed in the direction meeting at right angles with the optical axis by driving force of a coil 21 which has been wound round a yoke 20 through an insulating layer. Also, in a ring-like air-gap 9 in the magnetic circuit consisting of a permanent magnet 7 and a yoke 8 tightly stuck to both end parts in its axial direction, a cylindrical coil 10 is installed to a flange 11' of a cylindrical holder 11 placed in the hole of the yoke 8. When a current is made to flow through the coil 10, the objective lens placed in the upper part of the holder 11 is driven in the axial direction. Also, a low speed follow-up is executed by driving the arm member relatively. In this way, an optical scanner of a sample and compact structure is obtained.
