Abstract
PURPOSE:To control the directive characteristics of the vertical face into a desired form, by providing an auxiliary radiator control material near a radiator. CONSTITUTION:One side of materials for strip line which have copper foils 3 on both faces of a dielectric film 2 is etched to remove the copper foil except the part of a radiator 1, and the radiator 1 is formed, and an antenna feed line 4 is connected to a point (a) of the radiator 1. A radiator control material 5 to control the directivity of the vertical face is formed on the same substrate where the radiator 1 is formed, and the radiator control material 5 is so designed that it is lambda/4 wide along an axis B-B' when the propagation wavelength in the radiator 1 is denoted as lambda. If an end part 6 is opened, an end part 7 of the radiator is regarded as short- circuited in a high frequency, namely, an earth point, and the radiation field of the radiator in a high frequency, namely, an earth point, and the radiation field of the radiator 1 is acquired between a gap 8 and the radiator 1 and is weak in the side of the radiator control material 5 and is strong in the opposite side, and an axis 9 of radiation of the vertical face is inclined from the vertical direction, and thus, the radiation direction is controlled as shown by a dotted line C.
