Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily remove carbon deposits by a method wherein an exhaust valve which is capable of varying exhaust timing by rotary motion is fabricated of laminating plates supported between an end plate and a driving plate, which causes phase shift between adjoining laminating plate as rotates. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust valve 50 across the exhaust port of a two-cycle engine consists of the driving plate 52 in disc shape, the end plate 54 and many laminating plates 56 supported between the former and the latter 52, 54 along the rotating axis A. Its general appearance is approximately in a cylindrical shape with narrowed middle. A driving shaft 60 is fixed on the driving plate 52, and also a supporting shaft 62 is fixed by press fit at an eccentric point on the driving plate 52 by a distahce ''a'' from the rotating axis A of this shaft 60 with which the supporting shaft 62 is parallel. Many independently rotatable, laminating plates 56 are supported with the supporting shaft 62, and a taper pin 66 is put through a through hole 68 on each laminating plate 56 as far as the end plate 54. Therefore, phase shift takes place between adjoining laminating plates 56 when the driving plate 52 rotates clockwise.
