Abstract

PURPOSE:To supply an offset preventive liquid efficiently, by constituting a device so that the applied quantity of the offset preventive liquid is controlled in accordance with absorptivity of the offset preventive liquid of a supporting material of a toner image. CONSTITUTION:While a supporting material 24 having a toner image 25 is fed between a pair of fixing rollers 1, 4, silicon oil absorptivity of its supporting member 24 is detected by a detecting means 26, a rotary solenoid 18, or 18 and 22 are operated through a control means 27 only for a necessary time. Accordingly, felt 15 supplies silicon oil by the quantity being suitable for the supporting material, to a heating roller 8, and subsequently, it is applied on the surface of the fixing roller 1 so as to be almost uniform at the nip part of a roller 8 and 1. In this way, on the surface where the supporting material 24 contacts with the roller 1, silicon oil of necessary and sufficient quantity for preventing the offset of said supporting material is applied.
