Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a non-linear photoelectric variable resistor with improved output characteristics and with characteristcis close to designed value by a method wherein short circuit metal layers are provided at parts of difference in level of resistor layer which is composed of a plurality of rectangular resistor patterns which have different dimensions and are connected in series. CONSTITUTION:Short circuit metal layers 10 are provided to parts of difference in level of a resistor layer 1 which has difference in level and is composed of continuously connected three rectangular resistor patterns with successively different dimensions. Electrode layers 2, 3 are provided to both ends of the resistor layer 1. An electrode layer 5 are provided to one side of a photoconductive layer next to the resistor layer 1. Terminals are drawn out of these electrode layers, so that a three- terminal photoelectric variable resistor is composed. With above configuration each part of difference in level is equipotential and parallel distribution of electric lines of force is obtained, so that resistance and output voltage characteristics can be closer to the designed values.
