Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid leaking of steam toward an operation panel and to prevent the operation panel from being heated to a high temperature by a method wherein a rib extending from the upper portion to the lower portion of the side of a door adjacent the operating panel is formed and a short rib is formed on the other side.
CONSTITUTION: The rib 3a is formed on the side of the door 3 near the operation panel of the steam oven so as to extend from the upper portion to the lower portion of the door while the short rib 3b is formed on the other side of the door 3. In consequence, the side of the door 3 having the rib 3a comes into contact with a backing plate 15 to thereby reduce the clearance between them and accordingly, a sufficiently large clearance is formed between the side of the door having the rib 3b and the backing plate 15. With the above structure, most of the steam within the oven 2 leaks from the upper edge and one side of the door in the directions of the arrows A and B without leaking on the side of the operation panel 4 ( in the direction of the arrow C).
