Abstract

PURPOSE:To sharply reduce the thickness of a developing agent than conventional ones, by supporting with a pivot movably a thickness controlling means having a pressing member which presses the developing agent with a magnetic force in the direction normal to the surface of a developing agent conveying member. CONSTITUTION:When copying works are started, a photosensitive body 1 is driven along the direction shown by the arrow, and latent images formed on the surface of the photosensitive body move to the developing location where a sleeve 5 and the photosensitive body 1 most approach each other. On the other hand, a magnet 7 installed inside the sleeve 5 is rotationary driven clockwise. By the rotation of the magnet 7, a toner 3 in a tank 4 is supplied from an outlet and inlet port 6 of the tank 4 to the surface of the sleeve 5, and the toner 3 is conveyed anticlockwise on the peripheral surface of the sleeve 5. The toner carried under this condition is limited in thickness by a thickness controlling means 8 and the reaches a developing location A. At this time, the toner on the sleeve 5 electrostatically adheres to the electro-static latent image on the surface of the photosensitive body 1, and thus, the latent image is visualized by the toner.
