PURPOSE:To obtain permanent pictures without performing fixation by transferring ink from a transfer ribbon to a base by forming an ink absorbing layer with prescribed thickness and an ink-transmissive lubricious layer on the card base and then by pressure-bonding them by heating them by a heat-sensing head, etc. CONSTITUTION:On the substrate 2 of an information recording card, an ink absorbing layer 3 which absorbs and retains recording ink is formed to a 10-30mum thickness and on the layer 3, a lubricious layer 4 which transmits ink is also provided to a 2-10mum thickness. Between the substrate 2 having those formed layer 3 and lubricious layer 4, and a heat-sensing recording head 8, a heat-transfer ribbon provided with an ink layer 7 on a ribbon base 6 is arranged and the ink layer 7 of the transfer ribbon is brought into contact with the card surface for thermal pressure bonding by using a pressure-bonding roller 9. Ink at a heated part, while transferred to the card, is absorbed and retained in the layer 3 via the lubricious layer 4 and the part 11 where the ink is absorbed results in a picture part, improving the durability of a recorded picture.
