Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve filtration by a device and a method wherein a partition wall plate is provided in an intermediate part of the interior of a casing in such a manner that its position can be freely changed, a plurality of filter plates are provided on both sides of the partition wall plate, a region for a thinner liquid to be treated is provided on one side of the wall plate and a region for a thicker liquid to be treated is provided on the other side.
CONSTITUTION: Filter bodies 6A, 6B are provided on opposite sides of the partition wall plate 2C. Liquid feed pipes 22A, 22B for introducing the liquids to be treated into the filter bodies 6A, 6B respectively are provided. In said device, the thinner liquid to be treated which has a lower solid content and is present at a higher part of a thickening tank is fed into one of the filter bodies through the liquid feed pipe 22, while the thicker liquid to be treated which has a higher solid content and is present at a lower part of the tank is fed to the other filter body through the liquid feed pipe 22. Accordingly, the period of time required for a liquid-removing step is reduced as a result of separate filtration of the thicker liquid and the thinner liquid.
