Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the precutting process, by installing a set of a trimming edge and a shearing edge which is cooperative to the former, to each of the die and punch, and by simultaneously performing the trimming and dividing of flashes while forged products are still hot.
CONSTITUTION: A forged product 7 is placed on a die 11 of a trimming die 10 so that a flash 9 of the forged product 7 may position on a lower shearing edge 14. When a punch 3 is lowered toward the die 11 and the forged product 7 is pressed against the die 11, the flash 9 is locally sheared with the edge of the shearing edge 14 and a product part 8 is cut off from the flash 9 with a trimming edge 12. The product part 8 falls down into a die sinking section 4 and the cut off flash 9 remains on the lower shearing edge 14. When the punch 3 is further lowered and enters into the die sinking section 4 of the die 11, an upper shearing edge 16 approaches the lower shearing edge 14 and shears the flash 9 into pieces together with the lower shearing edge 14. When this mechanism is used, the precutting process before the dissolving lamp is charged is eliminated, and the fuel consumption and the labor cost can be economized.
