CONSTITUTION: A bundle of unidirectionally extending fibers F is provided in the body 1 of a connecting rod between its large end 2 and small end 3 so that the bundle extends in the axial direction of the rod body. Light alloy is filled as a matrix among the fibers F. Each of the ends Fa, Fb of the bundle of fibers F at the large and small ends 2, 3 is divided into two so that the fibers extend also around a crank pin hole 4 and a wrist pin hole 5.
